IOSH Working Safely + Preparation Pathway
Free preparation. Formal certification. One connected pathway.
Every IOSH Working Safely course starts everyone at the same point, on the same day, with the same syllabus. The people in that room rarely start from the same place.
This pathway combines the formal IOSH Working Safely course, assessment and certification with 10 free foundation preparation modules, designed to build the knowledge and understanding you need before starting the formal course.
Who this is for
New to the workplace or just starting out
If you're a school leaver or apprentice stepping into your first role, safety terminology can feel unfamiliar before you've even opened a risk assessment. The preparation pathway starts at the beginning, with no assumed knowledge.
Experienced but not yet formally qualified
If you've been managing safety on the job for years without a qualification to show for it, this pathway is a free, structured way to build on that experience before taking on formal study.
Working on a major project
Large infrastructure and construction projects bring workforces together with very different safety backgrounds, often on tight induction timelines. A free, self-paced, mobile-accessible pathway means every worker can reach the same baseline before day one on site.
Managing a workforce
If you're responsible for workforce competence across a team or site, this pathway offers a consistent, measurable starting standard that every worker can be brought up to before formal safety training begins.
Your pathway
Free Preparation → IOSH Working Safely → Assessment → IOSH Certificate
The preparation pathway is not itself an IOSH certification course and does not provide an IOSH certificate. The official IOSH Working Safely certificate is awarded following successful completion of the formal approved IOSH Working Safely course and assessment.
The preparation modules are developed by XR2train and are designed specifically to support learners preparing for the formal IOSH Working Safely course.
