Industrial Mastery Pathway
Noise Advanced: Rail
Tier 2
Operational Overview
This course assumes you have already completed Noise Advanced: Noise Risk Management and Compliance. That course covered the assessment methodology, the control hierarchy and health surveillance design. This one does not repeat any of it.
Here, you apply that framework to the rail sector specifically: track machinery and maintenance depot noise sources, the safety authorisation structure under ROGS 2006, and the possession and line blockage constraints that shape when and how noise controls can actually be applied.

Instructional Objectives
- Apply the Regulation 5-equivalent noise assessment methodology to named rail track maintenance tools and depot environments.
- Reconcile the noise control hierarchy with possession and line blockage constraints specific to rail work.
- Maintain audiometric health surveillance continuity across a multi-contractor rail maintenance workforce.
- Apply wearable noise dosimetry within the access and safety authorisation constraints of a rail environment governed by ROGS 2006.
