Dust & Fumes Advanced: Rail (UK)
Operational Overview
Ballast dust, brake dust, welding fume from rail repair, grinding fume from track maintenance, and diesel exhaust from locomotives all combine to create a genuine dust and fumes risk across the rail network. Depot workshops, open track and confined spaces on rolling stock each change how that risk needs to be managed.
This course builds on your Dust & Fumes Advanced training with content specific to the rail industry. You'll work through COSHH 2002 and the EH40 workplace exposure limit for respirable crystalline silica, how the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations sit alongside these duties, and the practical realities of managing exposure across the network.
