Noise Advanced: Offshore Oil & Gas (US)

Tier 2

Operational Overview

Gas turbines, compressors, generators and hand tools all combine to make noise a constant presence on a fixed production platform. Offshore working conditions, rotational schedules, and the split regulatory landscape of the Outer Continental Shelf change how that risk needs to be managed compared with a typical onshore site.

This course extends your Noise Advanced training into the offshore environment. You'll work through the OSHA permissible exposure limit and hearing conservation duties that apply on the OCS, how BSEE's Safety and Environmental Management Systems framework fits alongside them, and the practical realities of managing exposure and audiometric testing on a platform.
