Operational Overview
Welding fumes, hydrocarbon vapors, and drilling mud additives all create dust and fumes exposure on a fixed production platform. Offshore working conditions, rotational schedules, and the split regulatory landscape of the Outer Continental Shelf change how that risk needs to be managed compared with a typical onshore site.
This course extends your Dust & Fumes Advanced training into the offshore environment. You'll work through the OSHA exposure limits and respiratory protection duties that apply on the OCS, how BSEE's Safety and Environmental Management Systems framework fits alongside them, and the practical realities of managing exposure and medical surveillance on a platform.
