Noise Advanced: Offshore Oil & Gas (MENA)
Operational Overview
Offshore installations across the Gulf run some of the loudest sustained work environments in the region. Generators, compressors, drill floors and helideck operations combine to put noise exposure at the centre of your daily risk picture.
This course builds on your foundation noise training and applies it specifically to offshore oil and gas work. You will look at where the noise really comes from, how hearing damage actually happens, and what MENA's patchwork of national frameworks means in practice when there is no single regional noise standard to point to.
You will finish with practical skills: choosing and fitting hearing protection correctly, understanding your monitoring and surveillance programme, and applying controls that protect your hearing without compromising your ability to hear an alarm.

Instructional Objectives

- Select and fit hearing protection. Choose the right protection for the role, including when double protection applies.
- Understand monitoring and surveillance. Know what dosimetry and audiometric testing involve and why they matter.
- Apply the hierarchy of controls. Reduce exposure through engineering and administrative measures while keeping alarms audible.
