Industrial Mastery Pathway
Noise Advanced: Nuclear
Operational Overview
This course assumes you have already completed Noise Advanced: Noise Risk Management and Compliance. That course covered the assessment methodology, the control hierarchy and health surveillance design. This one does not repeat any of it.
Here, you apply that framework primarily to operational and decommissioning nuclear sites, where a Radiation Work Permit and controlled-area access rules shape how you actually apply the control hierarchy, not just what the hierarchy says. Where a nuclear new-build site differs, this course flags it, but the core focus throughout is operational and decommissioning work.

Instructional Objectives
- Apply the noise assessment methodology to named nuclear-sector pumps, turbines, ventilation plant and decommissioning tools used on operational and decommissioning sites.
- Reconcile the noise control hierarchy with Radiation Work Permit constraints on an operational or decommissioning site.
- Maintain audiometric surveillance continuity across a joint-venture or multi-contractor nuclear workforce.
- Apply wearable noise dosimetry within controlled-area access and contamination control rules.
