Industrial Mastery Pathway
HAVS Advanced: Nuclear
Operational Overview
This course assumes you have already completed HAVS Advanced: Vibration Risk Management and Compliance. That course covered the assessment methodology, the control hierarchy and surveillance programme design. This one does not repeat any of it.
Here, you apply that framework primarily to operational and decommissioning nuclear sites, where a Radiation Work Permit and controlled-area access rules shape how you actually apply the control hierarchy, not just what the hierarchy says. Where a nuclear new-build site differs, this course flags it, but the core focus throughout is operational and decommissioning work.

Instructional Objectives
- Apply the Regulation 5 assessment methodology to named nuclear-sector cutting and grinding tools used in decommissioning and operational maintenance.
- Reconcile the vibration control hierarchy with Radiation Work Permit constraints on an operational or decommissioning site.
- Maintain health surveillance continuity across a joint-venture or multi-contractor nuclear workforce.
- Apply wearable exposure monitoring within controlled-area access and contamination control rules.
