Dust & Fumes Advanced: Ontario Annex

Tier 2

Operational Overview

Ontario has a Designated Substances Regulation that sets exposure limits for silica. If you work in construction, that regulation does not apply to you. It explicitly excludes construction employers.

A different regulation actually governs your workplace, and it sets the same style of limit through a different legal route. This annex gives you the regulation that genuinely applies, the actual number, and the disclosure duty that is specific to construction projects in this province.

This annex assumes you have already completed the foundation course. It builds directly on the hazard ratio method and respirator classes covered there.
