Dust & Fumes Advanced: Federal Annex

Most Canadian construction workers are covered by their province or territory's own law, not this one. Federal jurisdiction only applies if your employer is federally regulated, such as interprovincial transportation, banking, or telecommunications, or if your work is performed on federal land or directly for the federal government.

If that describes your employer, this annex gives you the specific mechanism that actually sets your exposure limit, and it works differently from the fixed numbers used in provincial annexes like Ontario or British Columbia.

This annex assumes you have already completed the foundation course. It builds directly on the hazard ratio method and respirator classes covered there.
