This course assumes you have already completed Silica Dust Advanced: Exposure Management and Compliance. That course covered the assessment methodology, the control hierarchy and health surveillance design. This one does not repeat any of it.

Here, you apply that framework across the tasks that actually generate silica dust on a construction site, breaking, cutting, drilling, chasing and grinding concrete, brick and mortar, alongside the enforcement pressure a multi-contractor build creates and the surveillance continuity problem that comes from workers moving between employers on the same job. Grinding technique gets particular attention here, since it is the foundation the practical VR simulation builds on next.
