Electrical Safe Isolation (LOTO)
Operational Overview
You've already covered general power tool safety. This course is specifically about safe isolation, the procedure that stands between you and a live circuit whenever you work on electrical equipment or systems.
You may know this procedure by the American term LOTO, lock out tag out. In the UK, the same principle is called safe isolation, and it's set out in guidance under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. The steps are similar, the legal basis is specifically British.
This course takes you through the full procedure properly: isolating the right point, locking it off so nobody else can re-energise it, and proving it's actually dead before you touch anything.

Instructional Objectives
