Industrial Mastery Pathway
Silica Dust Advanced: Construction (Canada)
Tier 2
Operational Overview
This course assumes you have already completed Silica Dust Advanced: Exposure Management and Compliance. That course covered the exposure standard, the control hierarchy and health surveillance design. This one does not repeat any of it.
Here, you apply that framework specifically to construction, including a genuinely important divergence: in Ontario, the province's own silica regulation does not apply to construction work at all. If you manage construction workers anywhere in Canada, this course covers exactly what duty applies to you instead.

Instructional Objectives
- Apply the exposure assessment methodology to named construction tasks involving crystalline silica, including concrete cutting, grinding and masonry work.
- Understand Ontario's construction exclusion from its own silica-specific regulation, and what duty actually applies there instead.
- Reconcile the silica control hierarchy with construction programme pressure and multi-contractor site coordination.
- Maintain health surveillance continuity for a mobile, multi-employer construction workforce.
