Operational Overview
AI in oil and gas is not a future prospect. It is already running on real platforms, watching real equipment, and flagging real problems before they become failures. Predictive maintenance is the clearest example, and it is already changing how ageing North Sea assets are kept running.
This course looks at where that technology is genuinely being used today, why a confident prediction is not the same as a correct one, especially on older equipment with a less complete history behind it, and how to use these tools well when they reach your platform or site.
You will finish this course able to recognise where AI is actually adding value, spot where its confidence might be getting ahead of the evidence, and know exactly what good practice looks like when you are the one relying on its output.
