Health Technology and Wearables at Work
What It Actually Does, and What It Doesn't
Straightforward Transparency, Not Hype
Wearable technology on site can sound like it's watching your every move. In most cases, it genuinely isn't, and understanding exactly what it does and doesn't do is the whole point of this course.
An employer-issued safety wearable, like the ones made by companies such as Spacebands, exists to measure specific, known hazards, hand-arm vibration and noise, against legal exposure limits. It is not a general health tracker, and by design, many of these devices have no GPS and cannot track your location.
Knowing exactly what a device measures, and what it deliberately leaves out, is what turns a piece of technology from something to be wary of into something genuinely useful.
This course also looks at personal wearables, the fitness trackers and smartwatches many people already wear, and how they support your own awareness of your own health, entirely separate from anything work-related.
