Common, Not Dramatic
The hazards that cause the most workplace injuries aren't usually dramatic. Manual handling, slips and trips, and noise account for a genuinely significant share of injuries across UK industry, not because they're unusual, but because they're everywhere and easy to underestimate.
This course applies what you learned about hazard and risk directly to these three, covering what each one actually looks like, the basic control measures already in place, and when PPE is genuinely required.
None of this requires memorising detailed regulations. It requires recognising these hazards when you see them, and knowing the simple habits that keep the risk low.
By the end of this course, these three common hazards will feel familiar rather than abstract.

An Ordinary Lift, an Avoidable Injury
A new starter, keen to keep pace with more experienced colleagues, lifted a heavy box alone rather than asking for help, using poor technique under time pressure. The resulting back strain kept them off work for several weeks.
The organisation's review found nothing unusual about the task itself, only that nobody had reinforced that asking for help with a heavy lift was expected, not a sign of struggling.
